Built before content management systems became popular, this website was difficult and timely to update, disorganized, and failed to meet the informational needs of its many audiences. It’s dated look did not communicate the regional water supply’s exceptional story of responsible, community-focused, water control, quality, and service.
Digital Echidna recommended a new site using WordPress as the content management system. This affordable solution would ensure that the site is AODA compliant, mobile friendly, and easy to add and update content.
Today, with it’s new layout and design, the site is clean in appearance and a new url - huronelginwater.ca, a better representation of regions being serviced. Purpose-built for three main audiences: municipalities, residents/consumers, and contractors/consultants, the focus is on providing relevant information to each of these audiences in a way that is easy to navigate and access. Non-mandatory information is also available in a self-serve format, including board agenda packages and meeting minutes, educational information on water treatment/purification, conservation, and access to facility tours.
