The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario needed to re-develop its corporate Intranet (CHEOnet) so that it would function as a strategic utility for all hospital staff. CHEOnet contains over 3,000 pages of content and is used on a daily basis by its staff – in fact, over four-fifths of the staff have the Intranet site as its default home page.

CHEOnet had to serve both an effective internal communications vehicle and as a portal to the clinical content and applications employees use most often. It needed to assist in work place collaboration, allow for personalization, and improve search functionality.

Digital Echidna’s solution was a Drupal-based, mobile-friendly Intranet solution. In addition, our creative team developed “characters” that would be used throughout the site, but reflected the child-focused nature of the hospital’s mandate.
